Peace Out, Venice! Hellooo, Florence!

We arrive in Florence and I reach into the overhead compartment and prepare to disembark. However, when I slung my bag on my shoulder, for some reason my pants got wet. Did you remember about the tiny Diet Cokes I shoved in my bag? Because, I didn't. To all my faithful readers, if you decide to stash Diet Cokes, do not store them in a pocket with your keys. Your keys will punch a hole right in the can. Said can then flooded everything in my bag and started dripping all over the floor. I didn't have napkins or towels, so I kept it moving. Never have so many people given me the stink eye at one time. But, I ask, what was I supposed to do!? Stop, drop and roll in it? No, thank you, keep it moving.
We made it to our room, which was super cheap, served breakfast every morning in the room, and had a view of the Duomo! There was a fireplace (empty) on the right, and, later that night, I may have had a bit too much wine and struck a pose in said fireplace. But, that may or may not have happened.
After we got settled, we headed off to find lunch. Prash found this place with giant sandwiches, so that's where we ended up. The bread was the size of my head, but a got a melted Caprese, so I can't complain too much!
We were eating outside the Duomo and a gypsy woman came up asking for money. We said, "No, sorry, we don't have any" and instead of walking away, she just kept standing there begging. After she realized we really meant no, I watched her go up to every single person standing in line for the Duomo and do the same thing! At least she's persistent!
Next, we headed to the Accademia Gallerie in Florence! Prash wanted to see David, and I was inclined to acquiesce the request. I don't remember doing this in Venice, but we decided to just mirror the paintings/sculptures/etc. and had a lot of fun doing it!
Because it's Easter, here are me and Jesus throwing up the Peace sign together. Remember to be kind and love one another. That's the key to life! I will try to remember that tomorrow morning when the road rage kicks in on the way to work. MOVING ON!
The rest of the museum was pretty cool. There was a musical instrument exhibit there that Prash really enjoyed. We got real good and cultured which means, I was more than ready for wine.
This place is where we learned that Italy brings you wine in a jug. Our lives were never the same after that. We took full advantage!
After the wine, we walked across the city and up a giant hill to Piazzale Michelangelo. It was a long walk, and Prash doesn't love walking, but it was totally worth it! When we made it to the top, we bought a bottle of wine and watched the sun set over the city. It was one of those moments you never really want to forget because everything just seems too perfect.
Once it was dark, we hiked back down for dinner. We went to a place called Simbiosi for pizza. I had a pizza with green apples, cabbage, and brie on it. I thought it was delicious, Prash is still offended that anyone would put that on a pizza. Agree to disagree.
Anyway, stay tuned because the next day was Winesday, and who doesn't want to drink wine all over Tuscany!?
